The Central Government has introduced significant amendments to India's Foreign Trade Policy by banning the import of goods manufactured using forced labour. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued a gazette notification outlining the revised regulations, which are scheduled to come into force within 30 days.
The decision is intended to strengthen India's import framework and encourage ethical and responsible trade practices. By tightening import regulations, the government aims to prevent products linked to forced labour from entering the domestic market while aligning trade policies with global standards on labour rights.
