Heavy rains and devastating floods have triggered a major humanitarian crisis in Nepal, with the death toll reportedly crossing 700. As many as 2,426 people are still missing, while 5,851 people have been evacuated to safer locations. Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading districts are among the worst-affected areas.
Rescue and relief operations are continuing despite challenging weather conditions. Heavy rainfall and flooding have damaged roads and bridges in several areas, making it difficult for rescue teams to reach affected locations. Search operations for those reported missing are underway as authorities work to speed up relief efforts.
