Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Mumbai, disrupting normal life and causing severe waterlogging in low-lying areas. One of the worst-hit locations was the Sion Subway, which was completely submerged following continuous downpours. Commuters faced difficulties as traffic movement slowed across key routes, while civic authorities remained on alert to manage the situation.
According to weather officials, Mumbai recorded an average rainfall of 56 millimetres during the latest spell of rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall over the next 24 hours and advised residents to remain cautious. Authorities are closely monitoring vulnerable locations and have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel in waterlogged areas.
