Chandrababu Gives Key Assurance on GO-3

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has assured that the government will protect the 1/70 Act and GO-3 at all costs and safeguard the rights of tribal communities. Addressing a World Tribal Day programme in Vijayawada, he said the government would ensure that 100% of jobs in agency areas are reserved for tribals. He also said steps would be taken to ensure that the laws and government orders withstand scrutiny in Parliament and the Supreme Court. During the event, ITDA officials signed 19 MoUs with various organisations, which are expected to benefit 60,000 tribal people and provide skill training to another 1.5 lakh. Naidu said ₹4,764 crore is being spent for the development of 27.39 lakh tribal people in the state.

The Chief Minister said the government is focusing on agriculture, healthcare, education, tourism and employment in agency areas. He announced plans to develop Araku, Lambasingi and Paderu as major tourism destinations and promote Araku Coffee as a global brand. The government will add value to tribal products such as avocado, saffron, turmeric, rubber, pineapple, honey and palm jaggery and improve their marketing. Multispeciality hospitals will be built in several tribal areas at a cost of ₹250 crore, while measures will be taken to control sickle-cell anaemia. AI training will be provided to tribal students in collaboration with IIT Madras, and a Centre of Excellence will be established in Visakhapatnam for 600 students. The government also aims to connect 2,336 tribal habitations with roads, provide tap water to every household by December 2027, build houses for 64,066 beneficiaries and install solar power systems on 83,923 houses.
