Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Lash Bapatla

Bapatla witnessed heavy rain accompanied by strong winds on Monday evening. The adverse weather conditions caused a large NHAI signboard to collapse on National Highway 216 on the outskirts of the town. A major accident was averted as no vehicles were passing through the stretch at the time of the incident.

Following the collapse of the signboard, traffic movement on one side of the bypass was allowed temporarily. In several parts of the town, trees were also uprooted and fell on power lines, disrupting electricity supply. The weather-related disruptions caused inconvenience to residents and commuters.
