A shocking daylight robbery took place in Karimnagar near Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s residence, where armed robbers opened fire inside a jewellery shop. The incident occurred at PMJ Jewellers located behind the district judge quarters in Jyothinagar. A group of five to seven assailants entered the store posing as customers and suddenly began firing at the staff before looting gold ornaments.
Despite heavy police presence in the area just minutes earlier due to a development event attended by the minister, the gang executed the crime and fled. Four staff members who attempted to resist were injured in the firing and later shifted to Hyderabad for advanced medical treatment. Police recovered a magazine near the crime scene and immediately launched a massive manhunt under the supervision of the Police Commissioner.
Reacting to the incident, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar rushed to the spot, reviewed CCTV footage, and interacted with victims and officials. He condemned the attack as unfortunate and praised the bravery of the shop staff. Assuring swift action, he stated that the police are thoroughly scanning Karimnagar and expressed confidence that the culprits will be apprehended soon.
