The water level of the Godavari River has reached 55 feet at Bhadrachalam, leading authorities to continue the third danger warning. Rising floodwaters have disrupted transportation between Bhadrachalam and the neighbouring states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Officials remain on high alert as the river continues to flow at a high level.
As a precautionary measure, an earthen bund has been constructed to prevent floodwater from entering Bhadrachalam town. Bathing ghats at Parnasala have gone underwater, while road connectivity between Dummugudem and Bhadrachalam has been completely suspended. Authorities have advised people living in low-lying areas to remain alert and follow official instructions until the flood situation improves.
