OTT viewers have two more films to add to their weekend watchlist. Sree Vishnu's latest film Comrade Kalyan, featuring Mahima Nambiar as the female lead, has begun streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Although the story is set against a Naxalite backdrop, the film blends comedy and drama. It was released in theatres earlier this month and is now available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The story follows Kalyan, a small-town theatre owner in the 1990s, whose life takes an unexpected turn amid a conflict between police forces and Naxalite groups.
Another surprise release is the new film from the popular Mirzapur franchise. The movie, which was released in theatres last month and received an average response, has arrived on Amazon Prime Video without much advance publicity. The OTT version includes additional scenes and runs for approximately three and a half hours. It is currently available only in Hindi, while the Telugu-dubbed version is expected to arrive later. The story revolves around the power struggle in Mirzapur, involving Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu, Munna and Baban Yadav. Their rivalries, political ambitions and unexpected deals drive the narrative.
