Gen Z Should Know Telangana’s Struggle History: Ramchander Rao

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao said the younger generation, particularly Gen Z, should learn about the history of the Telangana armed struggle and the region’s movements. On Tuesday, he jointly released the book ‘September 17 Telangana Vimochana Dinamu’, authored by Osmania University professor G. Laxman, at the BJP state office in Hyderabad along with Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman. Speaking on the occasion, Rao said Prof. G. Laxman had made significant contributions through his writings on Telangana’s history and movements and had also played an important role in the later phase of the separate Telangana movement.

Rao also alleged that after the formation of Telangana, some people had sought to portray the entire credit for the movement as belonging to themselves. He said the contributions of intellectuals, professors, students and activists to Telangana’s history and movements should be made known to the younger generation. He stressed the need to present the region’s history to young people in a simple and factual manner.
