Pakistan is facing a severe fuel price crisis as petrol prices have crossed ₹410 per litre following the sharp rise in global crude oil prices triggered by tensions in West Asia. The economic impact of the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Iran has further intensified Pakistan’s existing financial and inflation crisis.
Earlier this month, the Pakistan government increased petrol prices by ₹14.92 per litre, pushing rates to a record ₹414.78 per litre. Although fuel prices were recently reduced by ₹5 per litre as part of a routine fortnightly review, petrol is still being sold at around ₹409.78 per litre. The surge in fuel prices has significantly increased transportation and essential commodity costs, leading to rising demand for electric bikes in cities like Rawalpindi.
