The Indian Navy has launched a rescue operation after the MV Ocean Winner sank in the Bay of Bengal. The incident occurred around 700 km from Visakhapatnam. The Navy immediately deployed a P-8I maritime surveillance and patrol aircraft to locate the vessel’s crew and assess the situation.
The naval aircraft detected life rafts in the sea and helped rescue two sailors safely. Search and rescue efforts are continuing to locate the remaining crew members. The Navy has intensified the operation to ensure the safety of those still missing.
