Ex-CBI Chief Backs Trainee IPS Uday

Former CBI Director and retired IPS officer M. Nageswara Rao has commented on the case involving trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy, urging that a fair and impartial investigation be conducted. In a post on X, he stated that a failed personal relationship should not automatically be treated as a criminal case and emphasized that the truth must be established based on evidence rather than public opinion.

Nageswara Rao highlighted Uday Krishna Reddy’s inspiring journey from working as a police constable to becoming an IPS officer despite financial hardships. He also questioned the decision to suspend Uday immediately after the FIR was registered, stating that administrative action should be fair and consistent. He appealed to the authorities to ensure a transparent investigation and suggested that Uday be allowed to continue his training until the inquiry is completed.
