Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials from various departments to take swift action to secure funds due to the state under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). During a high-level review meeting held at the Secretariat, he stressed the need for regular monitoring of fund allocations, pending releases and utilisation across departments. Officials from Agriculture, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Education, Welfare, Home, Rural Water Supply, Housing, Municipal Administration, Urban Development, Transport and Animal Husbandry were instructed to review the status of CSS funds periodically and coordinate efforts to ensure that eligible funds reach the state without unnecessary delays.
The Chief Secretary also directed officials to enrol more network hospitals under the PM Rahat scheme, which provides timely treatment and financial assistance to road accident victims. During a video conference with district collectors, superintendents of police and transport department officials, he explained that accident victims taken to a nearby hospital during the crucial “golden hour” can receive treatment worth up to ₹1.5 lakh under the scheme. He noted that while more than 1,000 hospitals are registered under Telangana’s Aarogyasri scheme, only 469 hospitals have enrolled under PM Rahat so far. Officials were asked to take steps to increase hospital participation and help accident victims access timely medical care.
