The Telangana Private Junior Colleges Managements Association has criticised the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education for allegedly failing to grant affiliation to private junior colleges despite the payment of prescribed fees. Association president Gouri Satish stated that 128 colleges across the state had not yet received affiliation, even though several months had passed since the fees were paid. Speaking to the media after the association’s state executive committee meeting at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram on Saturday, he alleged that college managements were being asked to pay bribes for routine administrative work. He also expressed concern about the future of thousands of students who had already secured admission to colleges awaiting affiliation.
The association warned that all private junior colleges across Telangana would be shut down for a statewide protest if the pending affiliations were not granted within a week. Gouri Satish also questioned the handling of alleged fake No Objection Certificates (NOCs), asking why officials had approved such documents without proper verification if they were found to be fraudulent. He alleged that a task force formed by the Board’s secretary was being used to collect money by pointing out minor deficiencies in colleges. The association further claimed that colleges collectively pay around ₹45 crore annually to the Board and demanded a comprehensive investigation into its financial transactions. Association adviser Varada Reddy, general secretary Vishnuvardhan Reddy and other college management representatives attended the meeting.
