The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is causing growing concern as the death toll has surpassed 100. According to health authorities, more than 550 Ebola cases have been confirmed across affected regions. Of these, 101 people have died, while 19 patients have recovered from the disease.
Authorities reported that 309 suspected Ebola patients are currently in isolation. On Sunday alone, 35 new cases were detected in Ituri and North Kivu provinces, while 10 additional deaths were recorded. Health officials stated that the outbreak remains a major challenge due to difficulties in diagnosis, limited treatment options, and the absence of a universally effective cure. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the disease could spread further across the region. Meanwhile, neighboring Uganda has confirmed 19 Ebola cases and reported two deaths.
