Dube Took a Risk for His Children

Shivam Dube made a quiet and unusual journey home after the T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad on March 8, 2026. Since he could not get flight tickets to Mumbai, Dube decided to travel by train with his wife Anjum and a friend. To avoid being recognised by fans, he wore a T-shirt, cap, and mask and boarded the train just minutes before it departed.

During the journey, Dube travelled in a third-tier air conditioned coach and reportedly stayed unnoticed by covering himself with blankets on the upper berth. At one point, a ticket collector asked whether the cricketer was on the train, but his wife managed the situation to protect his privacy. After reaching Borivali station in Mumbai, Dube requested help from the police to safely leave the station because of the large daytime crowd. The cricketer said he took the risk mainly to return home quickly and spend time with his children.
