Dispute Over Ganesh Mala at Private School

A dispute was reported at a private school in Hanamkonda after two siblings from the same family allegedly faced objections from teachers for wearing Ganesh malas to school during the Ganesh Navaratri celebrations. The incident reportedly took place on Tuesday at a private school in Madireddikunta. The students’ father, K. Srikanth, said his daughter and son had been wearing the Ganesh mala during the festival every year and went to school wearing it this year as well. He alleged that teachers stopped them and asked them to return only after removing the mala. The students then informed their father, who went to the school and questioned the staff.

Following the incident, members of the ABVP, Bajrang Dal, VHP and Hindu Vahini, along with the students’ parents, reached the school and questioned the management. The incident led to tension on the school premises for some time. The school management, however, clarified that it had not prohibited the students from wearing the malas and said they had only informed them that wearing the malas to school could cause difficulties due to certain unavoidable reasons. VHP representatives Sandeep Reddy and Sunand, Hindu Vahini representatives Ram Sharma, Ashok and Raju, and OBC Morcha state spokesperson Marka Sunil Kumar Goud were among those present.
