

Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to take additional measures to ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable travel experience for metro rail passengers. Chairing his first meeting as Chairman of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Board of Directors, he reviewed the operations and future development plans of the metro system at a meeting held at the Secretariat on Friday.
He instructed officials to prepare a plan for implementing a single-ticket system integrating metro and RTC services, and to coordinate with TGSRTC for developing a unified mobile application. The Chief Secretary also suggested introducing daily and monthly passes for commuters and called for expedited procurement of additional metro coaches. The meeting also reviewed the progress of Phase-1 acquisition and Phase-2 approvals, with senior officials from various departments in attendance.
