Food Safety officials have intensified inspections across Telangana to protect public health and curb the production and sale of adulterated food products. As part of the latest enforcement drive, 10 special teams conducted surprise inspections at 20 food manufacturing units across the erstwhile Warangal and Ranga Reddy districts. During the raids, officials identified several serious food safety violations, including the preparation of food products without following prescribed quality standards and maintaining proper hygiene. The inspections revealed significant lapses in food safety practices at multiple manufacturing facilities.
During the operation, officials seized 5,555 kg of substandard and allegedly adulterated food products, estimated to be worth approximately ₹5.89 lakh. The licences of nine manufacturing units were immediately suspended due to serious violations, and the authorities directed them to stop their business operations. In addition, the Telangana Food Safety (TG-SAFETY) officials issued show-cause notices to nine other establishments for failing to comply with the prescribed regulations. Officials warned that strict action would continue against businesses involved in food adulteration and the production of substandard food products.
