

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to remain on high alert during the monsoon season and ensure that citizens do not face inconvenience due to heavy rains. During a high-level review meeting on monsoon preparedness held at MCR HRD Institute in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister warned that strict action would be taken against officials found negligent in handling rain-related emergencies. Senior officials from various departments, including irrigation, municipal administration, police, health, agriculture, and meteorology, attended the meeting.
Reviewing the situation that arose during heavy rains on June 9, Revanth Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over severe traffic congestion and inadequate coordination among civic and police departments. He directed officials to take preventive measures based on weather forecasts and ensure field-level presence during rainfall. The Chief Minister stressed that municipal, traffic, police, HYDRAA, and water supply personnel must work in close coordination to prevent waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and public inconvenience. He also instructed authorities to prepare action plans based on identified flood-prone and traffic congestion hotspots.
