CM Revanth Focuses on Drinking Water

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to prepare a comprehensive drinking water master plan for the CURE (Core Urban Region Economy) region. He said the plan should ensure uniform drinking water supply across GHMC, Greater Cyberabad, Malkajgiri municipal corporations, and the merged municipalities while meeting the water needs of the next 50 years.

Reviewing Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) works, the Chief Minister instructed officials to improve water connectivity among all available sources to prevent supply disruptions. He ordered that areas receiving water once every three or four days should be shifted to alternate-day supply immediately, asked for all ongoing water supply and STP projects to be completed within the stipulated timeline, and directed officials to submit monthly progress reports through a dedicated dashboard. He also suggested framing rules to promote the use of treated grey water in industries and construction activities.
