Chandrababu, Nirmala Sitharaman to Lay Foundation for Horticulture Hub

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will jointly lay the foundation stone for the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub at Madanapalle on October 2. Under the Purvodaya programme, the project envisages around ₹40,000 crore in government investment and another ₹60,000 crore through private investments. It will cover the four erstwhile districts of Rayalaseema along with Prakasam and Nellore. The initiative aims to promote horticulture in drought-prone areas, strengthen the region’s agricultural economy and improve farmers’ incomes.

The foundation stone for the Indian School of Agriculture will also be laid at Madanapalle. The institution, being established by Reliance, is expected to provide quality education and training in agriculture. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is scheduled to participate in a series of programmes from September 29 to October 3. His schedule includes the Karmayogi Mission programme and Palle Panduga on September 29, distribution of house-site pattas to 24,000 beneficiaries on September 30, and pension distribution under the ‘Pedala Sevalo’ programme on October 1. On October 2, he will attend the Swarna Andhra–Swachha Andhra programme after the Madanapalle event, followed by the Pan-IIT Conference in Vijayawada on October 3.
