BRICS Nations to Hold Key Talks on Anti-Corruption in Hyderabad

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, will host the Second BRICS Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) Meeting and the Second BRICS Expert Network on Asset Recovery Meeting in Hyderabad, Telangana, on August 4–5, 2026, under India's BRICS Presidency. The event will be inaugurated by DoPT Secretary Rachna Shah and will bring together senior policymakers, anti-corruption experts, law enforcement officials, and representatives from BRICS member countries.

The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in recovering illicit assets, combating cross-border corruption, improving information sharing, and supporting extradition efforts for fugitive offenders. A special side event on "Ethical Governance through Innovation and Tech-Driven Systems" will also highlight digital governance, public procurement, transparency, accountability, and the use of emerging technologies to enhance integrity in public administration. The meeting is expected to strengthen long-term collaboration among BRICS nations in anti-corruption initiatives and institutional capacity building.
