AP Inter Exams to Get a New Pattern.. 10% Questions to Test Creativity and Analytical Skills

Andhra Pradesh is planning to change the Intermediate examination pattern to encourage students to understand and analyse lessons instead of simply memorising answers. From the next academic year, 10% of questions in the examination papers are expected to be designed to assess creativity, analytical thinking and the ability to apply concepts. The move is being planned in line with the National Education Policy, which seeks to bring greater uniformity and skill-based assessment into the education system.

At present, many questions in Intermediate public examinations are based on the questions given at the end of textbook lessons, encouraging students to memorise prepared answers. Under the new approach, a special question bank will be developed with creative and analytical questions. The Intermediate Education Board is conducting workshops for lecturers and inviting them to contribute questions. After review, selected questions will be added to the end-of-lesson exercises in newly printed textbooks. This will help students become familiar with the new pattern while preparing for examinations and gradually reduce rote learning.
