Anantapur Government Hospital: Patients Struggle Amid Crowding for 2D Echo Scans

Patients visiting Anantapur Government General Hospital for 2D Echo scans related to cardiac conditions are facing considerable inconvenience due to overcrowding. The hospital currently conducts 2D Echo scans only on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, resulting in a heavy rush at the scanning department. On Thursday, patients reportedly waited from around 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the crowded facility leaving little room even to move. Several patients became exhausted while waiting, while arguments reportedly broke out among some patients over who should be allowed inside first.

The congestion also caused difficulties for patients who had completed their scans and were trying to leave the department. Patients said the problem could be significantly reduced if 2D Echo scans were conducted every day instead of being restricted to three days a week. They urged hospital authorities to consider increasing the availability of the service in view of the large number of patients requiring cardiac diagnostic tests.
