The Telangana government has decided to transform the dilapidated Ambedkar Bhavan near Tank Bund in Hyderabad into a state of the art Ambedkar Knowledge Centre. The project aims to provide world class educational resources to students from Dalit, backward, and economically weaker sections. The government has allocated ₹50 crore in the state budget for this project and the modernization of the Babu Jagjivan Ram College Hostel Complex at Kachiguda.
The proposed centre will feature an international-standard library, e-library, and digital learning hub. It will also offer coaching facilities for Civil Services, Groups, Banking, SSC, and Railway examinations, along with career guidance and skill development programmes. Minister Adluri Laxman said the centre would become a platform of opportunities for thousands of students and unemployed youth aspiring to achieve success through quality education and training.
