Global technology giant Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, is reportedly planning a major expansion in India. According to a report by Bloomberg News, the company is preparing to establish another large office campus in the country amid tightening work visa norms for foreign employees in the United States. To meet the growing demand for skilled professionals, the company is said to be strengthening its presence in India, particularly in the technology hub of Bengaluru.
Sources indicate that the company has leased an office tower at Alembic City in the Whitefield tech corridor and has also reportedly acquired two additional land parcels. The combined area of these properties is estimated to be around 2.4 million square feet, which could accommodate nearly 20,000 additional employees. Currently, Alphabet employs approximately 14,000 people in India, while its global workforce stands at around 1,90,000 employees, reflecting the company’s continued investment in India’s technology ecosystem.
