OpenAI is reportedly planning to introduce the video-generation capabilities of its Sora artificial intelligence model into ChatGPT. According to reports, the San Francisco-based company is considering adding this feature to its popular chatbot platform. If implemented, users could create videos directly within ChatGPT, expanding the app’s capabilities beyond text and images.
Sources familiar with the development say the integration could happen soon, although the company has not announced an official launch date. Despite this possible integration, OpenAI is expected to keep the Sora application and its website active. Interestingly, the Sora platform has not yet been fully released worldwide, and the company has been gradually expanding its availability to different regions.
Experts believe the move could boost ChatGPT’s popularity, but it may also reduce the need for users to access the Sora platform separately. Video generation requires high computing power, and earlier limited access to Sora was partly due to heavy server demand. To manage resources and rising operational costs, OpenAI may restrict the feature to premium subscription plans or introduce a separate paid tier for video generation.
