OpenAI has announced ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialised ChatGPT Work experience aimed at helping financial institutions with research, financial modelling, analysis and client-facing materials. The company says the platform is built around three key requirements for financial professionals: information retrieval, financial reasoning and artifact generation. It can work with figures, tables and supporting notes in financial documents and turn the resulting analysis into documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
The platform provides built-in access to financial datasets from providers including Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News and Crunchbase, covering areas such as earnings transcripts, financial statements, company fundamentals and private-company information. OpenAI also says it is working with providers such as S&P Capital IQ, LSEG, MSCI, Dow Jones Factiva and Moody’s to support shared sign-in and entitlement integrations. In addition, the service offers MCP connectors, firm-specific Excel, Word and PowerPoint templates, multiple workspaces for information barriers, and administrator controls to enable or disable app read and write actions based on user roles.
