Apple’s upcoming iOS 27 has revealed strong indications that the company is preparing to launch its long-rumored foldable iPhone. According to reports, hidden code in the developer beta references folded and unfolded states, including terms like “foldState” and “mechanicalAngleDegrees,” suggesting the device can detect hinge positions and screen angles.
Additional system references point to support for multiple displays, secondary screens, and advanced sensors, all of which align with foldable smartphone design. iOS 27 also introduces full-page widgets optimized for larger screens, hinting at a hybrid experience between iPhone and iPad. The foldable iPhone is expected to launch around September, possibly priced near $2,000, and will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.
