Google Gemini App Arrives on Windows.. Here Are the Exciting Features!

Google has launched a dedicated Gemini app for Windows, bringing its AI assistant directly to desktop computers. The app is designed to work alongside other applications, allowing users to ask questions, fact-check documents or generate ideas without opening a separate browser tab. Google says the app can be accessed at any time using the Alt + Space keyboard shortcut, after which users can return to their previous application and continue their work.

The Windows app also includes a dedicated workspace for more complex tasks and supports Gemini Spark, an AI agent designed to handle multi-step activities. Users can connect Gemini with services such as Gmail and Google Drive so the assistant can use relevant information from those apps. Google has also brought its image and video generation capabilities to the Windows desktop, with Nano Banana for image generation and Gemini Omni for video generation. The company says the app is designed to be lightweight and run in the background, while more native desktop features are expected in future updates. The app is available for Windows 10 and Windows 11 PCs.
