Apple is reportedly preparing a major product announcement for October 28, with updated MacBook Pro models, an iMac and a new iPad mini expected to be among the highlights. The biggest potential change is a high-end MacBook Pro featuring an OLED touchscreen, which could deliver deeper blacks, richer colours and improved contrast compared with the mini-LED displays used in current premium models. The laptop may combine touchscreen functionality with the traditional keyboard and trackpad, marking a possible shift in Apple’s long-standing approach to Mac laptops. Other reported design changes include a Dynamic Island-style interface in place of the current display notch, a lighter internal structure and a reinforced hinge. Apple has not officially confirmed the launch details or specifications.
Reports also suggest that Apple may introduce an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip, an updated iMac with the same processor and a new iPad mini with an OLED display. The OLED MacBook Pro models could retain the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips and carry a higher price, while the entry-level MacBook Pro may focus on performance and power efficiency. The iPad mini is also rumoured to receive the A20 Pro processor, slimmer bezels, Wi-Fi 7 support and improvements to its camera, speakers and water resistance. The devices could reportedly go on sale from November 6, although pricing, availability and final specifications remain unconfirmed by Apple.
