While these platforms are helpful for general knowledge and productivity, experts warn that there are certain questions users should strictly avoid in the interest of privacy, safety, and sound decision-making. Medical advice or treatment should never be sought from AI, as chatbots are not doctors and cannot diagnose illnesses or prescribe medicines accurately. Similarly, users must avoid sharing personal or financial details such as bank information, passwords, Aadhaar or PAN numbers, as this could lead to serious privacy breaches and fraud.
AI chatbots should also not be used for illegal purposes such as hacking, tax evasion, or bypassing the law, as such attempts can land users in legal trouble. Another major concern is blind trust—AI responses are not absolute truths and may sometimes be outdated or incorrect, especially on legal or financial matters. Users are also advised not to rely on AI for major life decisions like career changes or business choices, as chatbots lack personal context. Finally, while AI may appear empathetic, it cannot truly understand human emotions, and emotional support is always best sought from family, friends, or qualified professionals.
