Apple has introduced a significantly upgraded AI-powered Siri at WWDC 2026, transforming the digital assistant into a more conversational, context-aware, and action-oriented experience. Built on Apple Intelligence, the new Siri can understand personal information stored across devices, maintain ongoing conversations, perform tasks across apps, and provide assistance based on on-screen content while maintaining strong privacy protections.
Apple executives emphasized that Siri is not being positioned as a standalone chatbot like ChatGPT or Gemini. Instead, it is designed as a deeply integrated system assistant that works seamlessly across iPhone, iPad, CarPlay, AirPods, and other Apple devices. The company also revealed a sophisticated AI architecture combining on-device intelligence, private cloud computing, and customized AI models developed with support from Google and Nvidia, all while ensuring user data remains private and secure.
