Apple has officially rolled out its latest operating system, iOS 27, to iPhone users worldwide, including India. The update introduces advanced artificial intelligence capabilities, a refreshed user experience and enhanced security features. Apple first showcased iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 in June. The company has also confirmed that its Duo and 18 Pro models come with the new operating system. Before installing the update, users are advised to back up important data and ensure that their iPhone has sufficient battery power. To install it, users can go to Settings > General > Software Update, check for iOS 27 and tap Download and Install. After installation, the device will restart according to the on-screen instructions.
iOS 27 is available for iPhone 11 and newer models, including the iPhone 17 series, as well as the second- and third-generation iPhone SE. A major highlight is the enhanced Siri experience, including a dedicated Siri app that combines Google Gemini and Apple models for more advanced interactions. Siri can understand information across different apps and provide relevant results based on user requests. Visual Intelligence has also been improved, allowing users to analyse objects and scenes through the Camera app and ask Siri questions about what they see. The Liquid Glass design introduced with iOS 26 now offers additional customisation options. Apple has also added parental controls such as Ask to Buy, Ask to Browse, Contact Approvals, Time Allowance and Schedules, giving parents greater control over app downloads, website access and screen time.
