Cyclone Arnab has caused extensive damage across several parts of Andhra Pradesh. The state government has placed the preliminary damage estimate at approximately ₹4,563 crore. North Andhra and the Konaseema region were among the worst-affected areas. The cyclone damaged electricity poles, transmission lines and other power infrastructure, leaving several villages and localities without electricity. Restoration work has been intensified, with teams working to repair damaged lines and replace fallen poles. The government is also coordinating relief operations, while central teams are expected to assess the damage.
Following Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's directions, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar spoke with his Tamil Nadu counterpart and explained the damage to the electricity network and the challenges faced by restoration teams. He requested additional personnel and equipment to speed up repairs. The Tamil Nadu government responded positively and agreed to extend the required assistance. Andhra Pradesh has also sought support from Telangana, whose electricity department personnel are already taking part in restoration work. Assistance from neighbouring states is expected to strengthen the ongoing efforts to restore power in the cyclone-hit regions.
