BJP MP Etala Rajender’s foot march demanding the relocation of the Jawaharnagar dumping yard is continuing. During the march, he made strong remarks against the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, stating that he would continue his protest until the dumping yard was removed and even vowed to fight until the government was brought down. Responding to alleged remarks by Congress leaders that he was taking out the march because he had no other work, Rajender said his movement would not stop with the removal of the dumping yard. He also challenged the state government to prepare and submit a Detailed Project Report (DPR) estimating the cost of recycling the waste at the Jawaharnagar facility. Rajender said he would convince Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release the required funds and bring the money for the project. He added that if he failed to secure the funds, he would quit politics.
Rajender began the foot march on the 27th of this month after performing special prayers at the Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple in Edulabad. He said pollution from the Jawaharnagar dumping yard was seriously affecting the health of residents in surrounding villages and colonies. He alleged that the air and groundwater in the area had become contaminated and demanded that the facility be removed without delay. Through the march, Rajender is seeking action to address the environmental and public health concerns raised by people living near the dumping yard.
