The artificial intelligence competition between the United States and China has intensified further, with the White House accusing Chinese entities of large scale efforts to steal AI technology. At the same time, Chinese startup DeepSeek has launched a new model called V4, featuring significantly reduced computing costs and expanded capabilities, marking another major step in the global AI race.
DeepSeek’s new model offers an ultra long context capacity of up to one million words and comes in two versions: V4-Pro and V4-Flash. Experts say this advancement could be a turning point for the industry, making high-level AI processing faster, cheaper, and more accessible for commercial use. The company claims its model competes closely with top global systems while using fewer resources.
The launch has further fueled tensions in the AI sector, already described as a “Sputnik moment” after DeepSeek’s earlier breakthrough shocked the tech world. While the technology is being widely adopted in China, concerns remain over data privacy and geopolitical competition. Meanwhile, major US tech firms are also restructuring and increasing AI investments, highlighting the global race for dominance in artificial intelligence.
