Russian Missile Strike Destroys Tennis Star Yastremska’s Apartment

The Russia–Ukraine war continues to escalate, with Russia launching another missile attack on Ukraine on Saturday night. The attack destroyed an apartment belonging to Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska. She said that none of her family members was harmed in the incident. Sharing visuals of her damaged apartment, Yastremska said that only a Roland Garros towel she had used during the French Open was left behind.

Yastremska expressed anguish over the destruction of her home and criticised what she described as international “neutrality” from Ukraine’s perspective. She said the Russian missile attack destroyed her apartment, while her family remained safe. This is not the first time she has been affected by the war; in December 2024, she had also revealed that her grandmother’s old family home was destroyed in an attack.
