Artificial Intelligence has moved into a new and more impactful phase, according to Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia. He stated that AI has clearly moved beyond hype and pilot projects and is now actively reshaping how businesses operate.
Chandok explained that AI is no longer just an idea or an experimental concept. Many organizations have already crossed the testing stage and are now using AI to deliver measurable business outcomes. From improving efficiency to enabling smarter decision-making, AI is transforming workflows across industries.
However, with the rapid adoption of AI, Chandok emphasized that continuous learning and skill development have become critical safeguards for both individuals and organizations. He believes that upskilling is essential to remain relevant and to use AI effectively and safely.
He also noted that the next phase of AI growth will focus on responsible and thoughtful usage. Once limited to a small group of experts, AI is now widely accessible due to powerful computing infrastructure and advanced AI models. In the near future, AI tools are expected to function like digital co-workers, assisting humans by analyzing data, handling routine tasks, and supporting decision-making processes.
Despite these advancements, Chandok clarified that AI will remain under human control. People will continue to be accountable for outcomes generated using AI, ensuring that technology serves as a support system rather than a replacement.
