Women’s Asia Cup: Smriti Mandhana’s Record Ton

India secured a place in the semifinals of the Women’s Asia Cup with a dominant 137-run victory over Hong Kong. Batting first, India posted 193/5 in 20 overs, with Smriti Mandhana producing a stunning 124 off just 64 balls, including 14 fours and seven sixes. She added 74 runs with Shafali Verma for the opening wicket. After Shafali’s dismissal, the other Indian batters struggled to build partnerships, but Mandhana continued her aggressive approach and took India close to the 200-run mark.

India’s bowlers then completed a comprehensive victory, dismissing Hong Kong for 56 in 16.2 overs. Deepti Sharma led the attack with 3/9, while Nandani Sharma, Prema Rawat and Shree Charani claimed two wickets each. Hong Kong lost its last nine wickets for just 27 runs. Mandhana’s innings also helped her achieve two major milestones: she overtook Mithali Raj to become the highest run-scorer in international women’s cricket with 10,880 runs and became the leading century-maker in women’s international cricket with 18 centuries. India will face Pakistan in its final group match on Saturday.
