Young Telugu actor Suhas and Tamil star Soori are playing the lead roles in the much-awaited action film Mandadi. Directed by Madhimaran Pugazhendi and produced by Elred Kumar, the film is being presented in Telugu by Mythri Movie Makers. During the promotions, Suhas revealed some of the most frightening experiences he faced while shooting the film. He said the team filmed at sea for nearly 70 days, travelling 10 to 15 kilometres from the shore every morning and staying amid the waves until evening. He described the unpredictable weather and sea conditions as an extremely difficult experience.
Suhas also revealed that he had several close calls during the shoot and felt he had come dangerously close to death on multiple occasions. He said he never expected to enter the Tamil film industry but is now happy with the opportunities and earnings he has received. In Mandadi, he will reportedly appear in a serious and intimidating villain role. Set against the backdrop of Ramanathapuram near Rameswaram, the film revolves around boat racing, with the captain who leads the race being called a ‘Mandadi’. Sathyaraj and Mahima Nambiar play key roles, while GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on September 10.
