Team India’s Japan Match.. A New Chapter in Cricket!

Team India is gearing up for a historic special T20 match against Japan on September 22. The match will be played at the Sano International Cricket Stadium in Tochigi and will be held under the name ‘Suzuki Cup’. The BCCI confirmed that the game is being organised as part of the celebrations marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Japan. The initiative is also aimed at strengthening sporting ties and encouraging greater people-to-people connections between the two nations.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia described the fixture as an important milestone for Indian cricket, saying it would take the Indian team to a new region and help introduce the sport to a wider audience in Japan and East Asia. Japan Cricket Association CEO Naoki Miyaji also welcomed the opportunity, calling India’s visit a historic moment for Japanese cricket. He expressed hope that the match would increase interest in the sport among local fans and encouraged Indian supporters and Japanese cricket enthusiasts to attend the game. The match is being organised under the ‘Sport 75’ initiative.
