A film based on the life of legendary Carnatic vocalist M. S. Subbulakshmi is reportedly being planned with Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role. Meanwhile, speculation has emerged about another biopic focusing on renowned playback singer P. Susheela. The proposed film is expected to explore key milestones in the life of the legendary singer, who has lent her voice to thousands of songs over several decades. Young actress Rukmini Vasanth’s name is reportedly being considered for the role.
There is also speculation that Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman may produce the project. Reports suggest that P. Susheela had previously expressed her wish to see her life story adapted into a film to Rahman. However, the project appears to be in the discussion stage, and no official confirmation has been made regarding the lead actress, production team or director. If the film moves forward, it could introduce the legendary singer’s remarkable musical journey to a new generation. Audiences are awaiting an official announcement.
