Olympic medalist PV Sindhu shared a light-hearted moment after her husband Venkat Dutta Sai stepped in as her temporary coach during the Australian Open Super 500 tournament. Dutta Sai, a sports data scientist by profession, provided on-court encouragement and tactical support to Sindhu during her second-round match against fellow Indian shuttler Isharani Baruah.
Sindhu defeated Baruah 22-20, 21-12, later revealing on social media that she was not feeling well and needed emotional support during the match. She humorously described promoting her husband to “coach” for a short time, adding that his encouragement helped her read the opponent better in the second game. She also mentioned receiving warnings from the referee but managed the situation without penalties, calling it a memorable and funny experience.
