The bond between Virat Kohli and former India head coach Ravi Shastri has been one of the most successful partnerships in Indian cricket. Under Kohli’s captaincy and Shastri’s guidance, Team India achieved several memorable Test victories overseas. Recently, Shastri responded to a social media post that described Kohli as arrogant and overly aggressive, stating that such perceptions may appear true, but only within the competitive environment of the cricket field.
Shastri explained that Kohli’s intense personality is part of his approach to the game and should not be confused with his real-life character. According to him, the Virat Kohli seen on the field is entirely different from the person off it. Meanwhile, Kohli is currently recovering from a thigh injury that ruled him out of the ODI series against Afghanistan. After playing a crucial role in helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru secure a second consecutive IPL title, the star batter is focusing on recovery and has already expressed his desire to continue playing with the aim of featuring in the next ICC ODI World Cup.
