PM Modi Praises Anahat Singh’s Victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated young Indian squash player Anahat Singh for winning the World Junior Squash Championship title. Taking to X, the Prime Minister praised her achievement as a matter of pride for the nation and said the historic victory would become a milestone in Indian squash history. He added that her success would inspire young athletes and encourage greater interest in squash.

Anahat Singh created history by becoming the first Indian player to win the World Junior Squash Championship title. Ranked 20th in the world, Anahat defeated Egypt’s Rukayya Salem in the final and secured her second consecutive medal in the tournament after winning bronze last year. The 18-year-old athlete has already achieved several milestones, including becoming India’s youngest participant at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games. She has also won the senior national squash championship for three consecutive years since 2023 and aims to win a gold medal for India at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
