

September 13 proved to be a memorable day for Indian sports, with the country’s teams achieving major victories across hockey and cricket. India’s men’s and women’s teams emerged as champions in the Junior Asia Cup, while the Indian women’s cricket team lifted the Asia Cup for the eighth time. The men’s cricket team also registered a victory over Afghanistan in the first T20I. Following the impressive performances, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated and praised the Indian teams.
Lauding the women cricketers, PM Modi said their Asia Cup triumph was a proud moment for Indian cricket. He praised the team’s confidence, consistency and inspiring performances throughout the tournament, saying their success would motivate millions of young cricketers to pursue the sport and represent the country. Modi also congratulated the men’s and women’s hockey teams for winning the Junior Asia Cup, particularly highlighting their victories over South Korea and China in the respective finals. Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team, praising their skill, commitment and fighting spirit and saying their achievement had made the nation proud.
