In the third ODI against New Zealand at Indore, Virat Kohli shone with a brilliant century, breaking yet another world record previously held by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli’s century was his 54th in ODIs and 85th in international cricket overall, further cementing his place at the top of the list for most centuries in One-Day Internationals. Sachin Tendulkar, with 49 centuries, ranks second.
This century marked Kohli’s first ODI hundred at Indore’s Holkar Stadium, making him the first player in ODI history to score centuries at 35 different venues a record previously held by Sachin Tendulkar, who had centuries at 34 venues.
Additionally, Kohli now holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian at the Indore venue. In the list of players with the most centuries across different ODI venues, Rohit Sharma ranks third with 26 venues, followed by Ricky Ponting, Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers with 21 venues each.
