For the first time in the history of the Bigg Boss franchise, a former cricketer will host the popular reality show instead of a film star. Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has been officially announced as the host of Bigg Boss Bengali Season 3. The announcement was made through a special video released by JioHotstar. The new season is expected to premiere in September alongside Bigg Boss editions in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Nagarjuna, Salman Khan, Vijay Sethupathi, Kichcha Sudeep, and Mohanlal will continue hosting their respective language versions.
According to reports, Ganguly will receive around Rs.125 crore as remuneration for hosting the show. The Bengali version of Bigg Boss is returning after nearly a decade, and the makers have chosen Ganguly to make the relaunch grand. Having earlier impressed audiences as the host of the quiz show Dadagiri Unlimited, Ganguly is now set to entertain viewers in a new role on television.
